Start for the "Other Theatre": At 6. to 26. October will take place the 11th International Festival PUPPEN SPIEL LEIPZIG One of the highlights is FRANKENSTEIN with Neville Tranters Stuffed Puppet Theatre from Amsterdam (NL). In 1976, NEVILLE TRANTER, the actor and puppeteer from Toowoomba in Australia, set up the Stuffed Puppet Theatre. Two years later he settled in Holland where he continued developing his performance, visually and emotionally, to its present form - a puppet show for adults. Neville Tranter is capable of evoking images the audience will not forget for a long time. His combination of down to earth humour, deadly seriousness and virtuoso puppetry has already made permanent converts of an audience who wanted nothing to do with puppets. |
The Festival for the Theatre of Figures and Objects, that is arranged in Leipzig every year since 1992 by the THEATER IM GLOBUS under the stage management of Jost Braun, has set up in buisiness to a appreciated institution that is rich in tradition and is a great magnet for the interested visitors.
The festival has a excellent reputation among the participants and gets a large international resonance among the common but also the special audience.
